Google Drive Backup
Connect your Google account to Wiri and push exported files straight to Drive — no manual download and upload needed.
What It Does
Once connected, any data export (Sales, Contacts, Invoices, etc.) can be sent directly to a specified folder in your Google Drive with one click. This creates a reliable off-site backup of your business records.
Connecting Google Drive
- Go to Settings → Integrations → Google Drive.
- Click Connect Google Account. You'll be redirected to Google's sign-in page.
- Sign in with the Google account that owns or has access to the Drive folder you want to use.
- Grant Wiri permission to create and manage files in Google Drive. Wiri only accesses the folder you specify — it cannot read your other Drive files.
- After authorising, you'll be redirected back to Wiri. You'll see your connected Google account email.
- Set the Drive folder path — either an existing folder name or leave blank to save to your Drive root.
- Save settings.
Tip: Create a dedicated folder in your Google Drive named "Wiri Backups" before connecting — this keeps your exports organised and separate from other Drive files.
Sending an Export to Drive
Go to Export, set your options, and click Send to Drive instead of (or in addition to) downloading. The file appears in your configured Drive folder within a few seconds.
Disconnecting
Go to Settings → Integrations → Google Drive and click Disconnect. Wiri removes its access token. Your files already on Drive are not affected.
Troubleshooting
- "Authentication expired" — click Reconnect. Google tokens expire after a period of inactivity.
- "Folder not found" — check the folder name in Settings matches the exact name in your Drive (case-sensitive).
- Export succeeds but file doesn't appear in Drive — check the Google account you connected has write access to that folder (not just view).
